Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta
Chairman
Nani Gopal Mahanta is currently Vice Chhancellor of Gauhati University and Chairman, Centre for South-East Asian, Gauhati University, Assam, India. His research interest includes issues of Peace and Conflict Resolution, Human Development and Security, Insurgency, Ethnicity and Identity Politics. He was a Rotary World Peace Fellow in the University of California, Berkeley from 2002-2004. As a World Peace fellow, he travelled to various parts of the world including Europe and South Asia for his internship and empirical work.
Medini Mohan Gogoi
Scientific Officer & Course Coordinator
Medini Mohan Gogoi is currently the Course Coordinator and Scientific Officer, Indian Knowledge System, in Centre for South East Asian Studies, Gauhati University, Assam, India. His areas of research interest include South East Asian Linguistics, Tai-Thai-Dai & Ethnic Studies, Manuscriptology, Paleography, Endangered Languages, Lexicography, Natural Language Processing, Indigenous Knowledge Systems of Greater India, and Civilizational Linkage between North East India and South East Asia. He is a trained linguist, dedicated researcher, and specialised in heritage preservation and curative conservation of medieval manuscripts.

Rimlee Das is the Coordinator of the Centre for South East Asian Studies. She completed her M.Phil at the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi). Her research interests lie in understanding the dynamics of identity formation, community relations, and the intersection of socio-economic processes and cultural practices.

Rimlee Das is the Coordinator of the Centre for South East Asian Studies. She completed her M.Phil at the Centre for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi). Her research interests lie in understanding the dynamics of identity formation, community relations, and the intersection of socio-economic processes and cultural practices
Chandan Das
IT Assistant
Responsible for office administration, documentation, IT-related support, management of events organized by the Centre etc. In addition to his regular duties he is also serving as PA to the Vice Chancellor, Gauhati University.
