Pridi Banomyong International College, Thammasat University’s Student Exchange Programme at Gauhati University
Gauhati University under the aegis of Centre for South East Asian Studies, Gauhati University on 22nd June, 2022 officially signed and renewed the MoU with Pridi Banomyong International College (PBIC) of Thammasat University, (Bangkok) Thailand for introducing the Indian Studies Program at Gauhati University wherein the 2nd batch of Students from PBIC will be registered for this International Students' Exchange Program for Six months (1 semester) starting from September 2022.

The MoU was signed in the Vice Chancellor's conference room of Gauhati University which was attended by, Prof. Pratap Jyoti Handique, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University, Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Director(Honorary), Centre for South East Asian Studies, Gauhati University, Dr. Hemanta Kr. Pridi Banomyong International College, Thammasat University’s Student Exchange Programme at Gauhati University
Under this exchange programme initiated by the Centre for South East Asian Studies, Gauhati University, a group of 15 students from the Pridi Banomyong International College, Thammasat University (Bangkok, Thailand) successfully completed their 6th Semester of the Bachelor of Arts in “Indian Studies Program” (Winter Semester, 2019) in Gauhati University.
The course structure of the programme was multidisciplinary in nature wherein eight (8) different departments of Gauhati University offered their papers covering areas like Indian Polity, India-ASEAN Relations, Indian Literature, Legal System of India etc.
The students were also taken to few academic field trips like the visit to the Nam Phake Village, Naharkatia of Dibrugarh District of Assam. From this visit, the students discovered the cultural and religious connections India shares with Thailand. They also visited Tezpur University and Royal Global University, Guwahati as part of academic outreach programme facilitated by the Centre for South East Asian Studies, Gauhati University.

National University of Laos’s Students Exchange Progarmme at Gauhati University
Under the aegis of Centre for South East Asian Studies, Gauhati University, five (5) students from National University of Laos (NUoL) completed their Short Term Diploma Course on “Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition” in the year 2018 offered by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Gauhati University.
